Cosmic Cactus Pillow - Tester Parade

The Cosmic Cactus pattern testers have been awesome! They have helped me refine my pattern and each created a pillow in their own unique style. It’s been fun to see how each one has brought the design to life with their choice of fabrics and colour schemes that I would not have considered. I hope these amazing pillows inspire you to create your own unique version. Thank you to all my testers for helping me!

Don’t forget to check them out on Instagram and give them some love!

The Cosmic Cactus pillow pattern is available in our shop.

Roz Moller @thecrappyquilter has completed her pillow in these lovely solid pinks and white. The fabrics are Prima Homespun from Spotlight in Lipstick, Dusty pink, Baby pink and White. The crosshatch quilting is wider and matches the width of the blocks.

Nicki Slater @missouri_marine_mom has taken her colour cues from the gorgeous feather print fabric and selected some beautiful solid blues and tan. The centre of the Square in the square block was fussy cut with the feather print at the centre of the pillow. Nicki made two matching pillows to complement a reading chair.

Instructions for fussy cutting the Square in a square block are included in the pattern.

Maria Amaya Gutiérrez @amuceta has used fabrics from the Art Gallery Fabrics range called ‘Lilliput’ designed by Sharon Holland. She has created a gorgeous pillow which features some prints in navy and orange. Amaya has added an extra element with the use of chenille trim which looks just amazing! I’ve never seen this before, so if you’re interested to know the product is called Chenille-It Blooming Bias and it adds beautiful texture to this pillow.

Betsy Clements @Scrappylovequilts has used a gorgeous range of vibrant fabric prints from the Sincerely Yours fabric collection by Sherri & Chelsi for Moda Fabrics. She has added some gorgeous hand quilting to frame the outline of the design. These colours really make the design pop and you can imagine this being a statement piece on your lounge!

Ingrid Van Kampen @ingridsquilts has selected a beautiful range of prints in navy with a pop of orange in the centre to match a quilt she has already made. She added her own personal style to this pillow, which gives you some idea how versatile the pattern can be. Ingrid has completed some beautiful hand quilting which highlights the blocks.

Overlapping envelope pillow backing.

Janet Davies @janetsquilts_etc used fabrics from the Grunge Basics fabric collection by Moda. With the use of festive colours, Janet has decided to turn her pillow top into a wall hanging for Christmas.
