Tester Parade - Cosmic Cactus Quilt

It’s been a pleasure to work with the Cosmic Cactus quilt pattern testers. They have provided feedback and suggestions that have enabled me to refine my pattern and make it better. It’s been fun to see how each one has brought the design to life with their choice of fabrics and colour schemes that I would not necessarily have considered. I hope these amazing quilts inspire you to create your own unique version. Thank you to all my testers for helping me!

Don’t forget to check them out on Instagram and give them some love!

Tester Feedback

It is a unique and striking pattern, well organized and fun to make. Amy @thepaintedbuntingstudio

The instructions are filled with great tips and REAL instruction that I feel is missing in many other patterns. Sara @gatesmountainquilter

I love this statement pattern so much and this throw size comes together surprisingly quick since the blocks are all larger in size! Kristin @kristinequinncreative

TWO-COLOUR QUILTS

Amy @thepaintedbuntingstudio has completed this gorgeous baby size quilt using the Good Vibes Digital Medallions Blue by Cloth Works fabric paired with a white solid. The photo with the field of blue bonnets makes an amazing backdrop for this quilt.

Amaya @amucenta has made this beautiful throw size quilt using the wonderful FIGO fabrics from the Martha collection - Strawberries Creme and Meadow Green. Those fabrics are just so sweet!

FOUR-COLOUR QUILTS

Lani @Juniperandelmquilts has made a baby size quilt featuring an adorable range of fabric prints in blue and grey. Lani has chosen to fussy cut the square-in-a-square block using the super cute Riley Blake Designs ‘Neverland’ fabric.

Other fabrics include: Elements Water in Ocean Blue from FIGO Elements by Ghazal Razavi (background); Flowerhouse Basics in Nightfall by Debbie Beaves for Robert Kaufman; Spark in Dove and Speckled in Metallic Frost by Ruby Star Society; and Neverland by Jill Howarth for Riley Blake Designs.

Kristin @kristinequinncreative has made this gorgeous throw size quilt. Her fabric choice of pink and orange fabric prints makes for a beautifully warm colour palette which I simply love!

SCRAPPY QUILTS

Sara @stitchlabquilting has made this wonderful scrappy (option 2 - uses fat quarters) baby size quilt and it looks amazing! This scrappy option allows you to dive into your stash of fat quarters. There are a mix of low volume and solids for the background, including the pink tones makes this a fun quilt. The centre fussy cut square with the bunny is super cute too.

Sara @gatesmountainquilter embraced the creative freedom this pattern allows you and played around with other design possibilities in this throw size quilt. The addition of the dark blue blocks added a wonderful framing effect to the inner blocks and looks amazing!

Myranda @loopandknotfabricshop has made an adorable baby size quilt using yardage outlined for the scrappy option 1. She has used Art Gallery Fabrics from the Shine On collection, as well as the Lilliput and Bookish collections.

Taimi @sisuquiltingco has dived into here stash and made this throw size scrappy option 3 quilt with a beautifully pink background and a blue star. To make this quilt scrappier, she has made the background blocks into squares and this has now been added as a suggestion to the quilt pattern.

Allyson @ally.sewn.quilts has used some beautiful blues to make this made a throw size quilt using fabric yardage, following the instructions for Option 1 scrappy quilt.
