Urban Crossways: Quilting Idea’s
You have finished your Urban Crossways pillow front and you are not sure how you should quilt it!
Then you’re in the right place to discover a couple of simple ways to quilt your pillow.
Machine Quilting
This straight line quilting design creates a set of ‘crossways’ making this a simple and stylish design, keying in with the theme of the pillow.
To create this look, download our Quilt by Numbers guide. With your walking foot attached, start at No. 1 sewing a 1/4 inch from the seam. Follow the numbers to complete all 28 quilt sections.
Viola! You have finished quilting a stylish and modern pillow front.
Hand Quilting
For the this scrappy pillow I wanted to add some traditional elements and highlight key elements of the design.
I simply used three strands of the black DMC thread and hand stitched the outer edge of the L-shape and around each of the centre squares.
Finish off with some machine quilting for added texture. I quilted two squares around the four centre feature squares. Then I have quilted a line through the centre of the remaining background rows. You can refer to the Quilt by Numbers guide to work your way around quilting the pillow.
It took me a while longer to quilt this pillow, but I just love the end result!
