What sewing machine do you use?
Until fairly recently, I used my trusty Janome My Excel 18W which has served me well for 25 years and many moves! I’ve recently upgraded to a Janome Memory Craft 9450 QCP which has more space for quilting and has many features to make sewing easier.
Do you make custom quilts?
I’m happy to consider custom quilt requests for any of the quilts I’ve designed. Please contact me to enquire about having a custom quilt made.
How do I wash my wash and dry my quilt?
Machine washing Instructions: In cold water, use a gentle cycle with a mild detergent (such as wool wash). The quilt has not been washed. When washing for the first time, add Colour Catches (available at the supermarket) to stop any fabric dye bleeding. Tumble dry on low heat.
Hand washing Instructions: In cold water, use a mild detergent (such as wool wash). The quilt has not been washed. When washing for the first time, add Colour Catches (available at the supermarket) to stop any fabric dye bleeding. Rinse with fresh water, adding 1/2 cup distilled white vinegar to the water to help remove detergent residue, brighten colours, and soften the fabric. Lay your pillow flat and air dry.
Can I sell a quilt made from one of your patterns?
Yes, quilts made using a Lou Lou & Betty patterns can be sold. Please ensure you give design credit when doing so. Please note, Lou Lou & Betty quilt patterns cannot be reproduced and sold. Duplication of any kind is prohibited.
